We do require that every client update their file once a year. If your last name starts with the letters A-M you must reregister after Jan. 1 and if your last name starts with the letters N-Z you must reregister after July 1.
What to expect when you come in.
At Parkland Food Bank we do work on a drop in basis so you do not need to book an appointment. When you arrive please see our staff at the front reception desk to register. If there is a line-up of clients you may need to ask for a number from the front desk.
Once you are registered, you may help yourself to bread and extra pantry items off the shelf while you wait for a volunteer to bring your order out to you.
Please don’t forget to bring your own bags! If there is anything in the hamper you would not use, we ask you to leave it behind so we can put it back on our shelves for someone else.
You may come once a month for a hamper.
These hampers contain pantry items, milk, meat, margarine, and eggs as well as produce and pastry. In order to receive this hamper you must provide proof of residency that has a current date and your address (a utility bill is a good example).
Once a week you are eligible to receive bread and produce.
This contains some produce, pastry and either some frozen products or pantry items depending on what we have available. You may also help yourself to bread and extra pantry items off the front shelf.
