Parkland Food Bank is incredibly low on food supplies to feed the current 900 families we are assisting every month. We want to make it easy for you to help while you are grocery shopping this weekend!

Friday, July 28 and Saturday, July 29, we will be collecting food donations, in Spruce Grove, at both:

We will be collecting from 9:00am until 4:30pm.

Please look for our incredible volunteers as you enter the store, and they can give you a special shopping list of our most needed items!

Thank you for your support!

Coldest Night of the Year – 2023

It’s cold out there.

On February 25 (from 4:00 and 7:00 pm), Parkland Food Bank Society is hosting the Coldest Night of the Year, a 2 & 5 km winterrific walk in support of our work in the Tri-Region with people experiencing hunger.

GOAL: With your help, our goal is to raise $90,000 by February 25, 2023!

HOW: To accomplish our goal, we’re looking for 40 team captains (of all shapes, sizes and ages) who will recruit 7-8 friends to their team, with a goal of raising $2000 per team. Of course, we’re also looking for a whole pile of walkers to join each of our teams and help us raise the funds.

TOQUE BONUS: Every walker who raises either $75 (youth 17 and under) or $150 (for adults) gets our famous Coldest Night toque as thanks for being amazing fundraisers.

A few quick facts

Here are a few quick facts for 2022 to highlight why this event is so important

  • Of the 28,266 individuals who used our hamper program in 2022, 11,203 were children.
  • 28% of our household visits in 2022 were fully employed families that reported needing assistance due to Low Wages or Not Enough Hours.
  • We are planning to distribute $1,178,875 worth of milk, meat, eggs, and pantry items in 2023. Most of that product will be donated, but we are planning to spend $310,000 as well.
