Parkland Food Bank is seeking volunteer Governance Board Members with skills in HR, Commercial Real Estate, Legal, Capital Fundraising, Government Relations, or Project Management to help strengthen our mission and long‑term growth.
Your expertise can directly support food security for families across Parkland County and surrounding communities.
Who We’re Looking For in our Volunteer Board Members
Human Resources (HR)
Support organizational culture, policy development, and staff/volunteer engagement.
Commercial Real Estate
Advise on building expansion, property strategy, and long‑term infrastructure planning.
Legal Expertise
Provide guidance on compliance, contracts, risk management, and governance practices.
Board Governance Experience
Contribute to nonprofit or for‑profit governance, fiduciary oversight, and strategic decision‑making.
Capital Fundraising
Support donor relationships, grants, major gifts, and upcoming capital campaign initiatives.
Government Relations
Build connections with municipal, provincial, and federal partners to support advocacy and funding opportunities.
Project Management
Lead and support strategic initiatives focused on timelines, collaboration, and measurable impact.
Time Commitment
Board members typically contribute 12–15 hours per month, which includes:
- Monthly board meetings
- Committee or ad‑hoc committee participation
- Fundraising activities
- Support of key organizational initiatives
