October 7, 2026 by Parkland Food BankHave you ever wondered what happens after a food donation arrives at the Parkland Food Bank? Many people see collection bins at grocery stores, workplaces, and community events. Few get the opportunity to see what happens next. Our Open House is your chance to step behind the scenes and learn how donated food makes its way from our warehouse shelves to families and individuals throughout our community.
Join us on Thursday, October 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as we open our doors for an evening of exploration, learning, and connection. During the Parkland Food Bank Open House, visitors can tour our facility, meet members of our team, and learn more about the daily operations that support local residents facing food insecurity.
Throughout the evening, you will learn how donations are received, sorted, inspected, and organized. You will also discover the important role volunteers play in keeping our programs running smoothly. Their efforts help ensure food reaches those who need it most. From warehouse operations to hamper distribution, every step is made possible through community generosity and the dedication of our volunteers and staff.
The Open House is designed for anyone who is curious about our work, interested in volunteering, considering a donation, or looking to learn more about the impact of community support. Whether you have supported us for years or are visiting for the first time, we invite you to see firsthand how local donations create meaningful change.
We are proud of the work happening at Parkland Food Bank every day, and we would love to share it with you. Bring a friend, bring your questions, and join us at the Open House. We look forward to welcoming you and showing you how your community food bank helps ensure no one goes hungry.
