March 4, 2017 by Parkland Food BankThis is to all the awesome, amazing people who give their time and money to the Food Bank.
I myself have recently been on medical for the last five months. All I’m entitled to (after paying taxes for the last 34 years) is $625 a month. I try. I fill out paperwork and wait, dot all the I’s and cross all the T’s.
For this my cheques actually get smaller each month – this letter isn’t about me though. It’s about the awesome amazing people who find it in their hearts to donate their time and money to help the less fortunate in Parkland County. You bring smiles and happy tummies (no matter what we get) to people who have nothing but a tummy ache. It’s nice to know I can go to a place and get food that kind, thoughtful people generously donated.
Without you I would do without. I have never received a Christmas hamper before. The one I received from Wabamun is my Christmas. I cannot say how much you matter in my life.
Thank you, all of you.
The world is a better place for all you do. Wishing you and your family the very best for Christmas and the New Year. May you be as blessed as me.
